Intended Audience & Purpose of Content

This Web site is designed for anyone who wishes to learn more about their health, the health care system and related issues. The mission of Nurse's Notebook, LLC and Nursesnotebook.com is to provide health consumers with commercial-free, reliable Web-based information from a nursing perspective that will help them strengthen their relationship with their health care provider(s) and ask questions that will enable them to be active partners in their care.

Nursesnotebook.com is designed to support and not to replace the relationship you have with your health care provider(s). If you do not have a primary health care provider, we urge you to seek out a primary care provider in your community who will know you personally and can advise you about your health concerns. You should check with a qualified health care provider who knows your health history before you:

  • Change any medication you take or treatment(s) you are receiving
  • Stop any medication you have been advised to take or medication that has been prescribed for you
  • Start a new medication or treatment, even if it is discussed at Nursesnotebook.com

Recommendations made in articles on this Web site are intended to be for general information purposes. We cannot make any personal recommendations since we do not have your personal health history nor have we examined you. You should never disregard advice you have received from your health care provider or delay seeking treatment or advice because of something you have read on this site.

If you use information from this Web site to change your medication regimen or treatment plan without advice from your personal health care provider, you do so at your own risk.

Because this site deals with a wide variety of health issues, there may be articles on this site that some people may think are inappropriate for children and/or young adults under age 18. We urge all parents to participate in their children's exploration of the Internet and any online services, and to teach their children about protecting their personal information while online. Nursesnotebook.com is not directed to children under the age of 13. Click here to learn more about kids' Internet use.
