Hints for Health: A Nurse's Notebook® is Pat Carroll's 2004 special for PBS. This fast-paced, information-packed 90-minute program provides viewers with authoritative but easy-to-understand health hints that will help them treat injuries, manage symptoms, and navigate today's complicated health care system more easily. The show is based on Pat's latest book, What Nurses Know and Doctors Don't Have Time to Tell You from Perigee Books (Penguin Group, USA, Inc). She calls on her "more than 20" years of experience to provide this insider's guide to PBS viewers. Pat's hints and tips are presented three ways:
Nothing in the show requires expensive equipment or takes lots of time to do. In fact, most of Pat's tips can be carried out with items already in the average home. Do you have celery, a plastic bag and rubbing alcohol, some honey and crackers, hydrogen peroxide or vinegar? If so, you'll learn how you can treat heartburn, apply a cold pack, treat a hangover and make ear drops -- just for starters!
Viewers are also treated to a quiz of myths and facts. Can you tell which of these are myths...or facts?
You will have the answers to these and much more when you watch Hints for Health: A Nurse's Notebook® Thank you to these PBS Stations airing Hints for Health: A Nurse's Notebook®If your area is not listed, check back for air dates during December pledge
